Stained glass windows
The beautiful stained glass window panels of St. Isabella's Church are the inspiration of artists Chris, Tony, and John Powers.  Their studio,  Powers Brother Stained Glass, is located in Scottsdale, Arizona.  Tony is described as the master craftsman and glass specialist, John is the business manager, historian and co-installer, and Chris is the artist and designer.   The brothers are three of eleven children, and they credit their mother, Grace, with their interest in art.  They are committed to making intensely detailed, intricate, and individual stained glass windows.
For the last 35 years, the studio has worked with artists, architects, interior designers, and individual on churches, private residences and commercial buildings.  They specialize in a copper foil technique that makes use of large solder areas combined with intricate sliver-like pieces of glass that often produces a 1,000 to 5,000 piece window. The company excels at creating an art glass window that has a painterly effect without the use of paint.  Their process involves the careful selection and masterful blending of glass colors from the dark to light in combination with vibrant colors.
Mrs. Marilyn Hunter is the parishioner who was inspired to renovate certain parts of St. Isabella's Church, solely "to enrich the liturgy." She is the woman responsible for "finding" the Powers Brothers to create the beautiful and meaningful stained glass windows for St. Isabella's Church.  We thank her immensely today and for generations to come.
